A busy fleet does not by itself establish business value. Fresno Business Brokers Prime connects owners with a valuation partner to discuss the cash flow, contracts and operating responsibilities behind the routes.
Follow the margin by type of work
Separate transportation income from warehousing, distribution and other services. Explain fuel costs, subcontractor charges and how often rates can change under customer agreements.
Show whether a few customers account for most of the revenue. A buyer will ask how those accounts were won and whether the work continues after you leave.
Reconcile the fleet and the financing
Prepare a current asset list with ownership, lease or loan status. Maintenance needs and replacement spending affect the cash a buyer can expect to keep.
Do not treat loan proceeds or the sale of a truck as recurring operating income. Your advisor should be able to reconcile the reported earnings with the underlying records.
Plan for the operating handoff
Identify who handles dispatch, driver relationships, claims and customer service. Write down the processes that currently live in your phone or memory.
Operating authority, insurance and permits need a transaction specific review. An asset purchase and an ownership interest purchase can have different consequences; never assume approvals transfer automatically.
Set the boundaries of the deal
Discuss whether receivables, vehicles, warehouse property and working capital are included. Put those assumptions beside the price before you compare competing offers.
